It might be cold outside now, but think back a few months and remember how hot a Midlands' summer can be. The heat itself can becomes a public safety issue. And, believe it or not, we have Cayce residents without a working air conditioner or they can't afford to run one. Our Cayce Police Department tries to keep an eye on our vulnerable populations without air conditioning during the height of summer and often provide new box fans to them to help prevent visits from our other emergency units.
